Dog-Ma – the Zen of Slobber – Review

Dogma

I am sure you are all aware by now that I love dogs, I have two very spoiled little ones that keep my family entertained.  I recently had the opportunity to receive a copy of the book Dog-Ma – the Zen of Slobber by Barbara Boswell Brunner for review.  Being that I also have a love of reading, I could not refuse this one.  I was not at all disappointed with this book.  I was pulled into the stories so quickly, the author does a great job, there are moments when I was laughing so hard I had tears in my eyes and others when I was crying for them and what they were going through.

After reading it, I have to agree that the author and her husband definitely had a sign somewhere only dogs could see that if they had any health issues, they needed to find Barbara and Ray (her husband).  They definitely went above and beyond in caring for their dogs, but the dogs also took great care of Barbara and her husband, saving Barbara’s life on more than one occasion.

If you love a book that makes you want to keep reading it and pulls you into the story, then this is definitely the book for you.  Having had dogs all my life, I could so easily relate to everything they were going through.  How each one has its own personalities and quirks, the fun of training them (which is usually more them training you).  I loved how she made every detail come to life, you could see it all without the need for pictures (though there were pictures of the dogs).

You can check out more about this book on their website, I like that there are pictures of some of the dogs on the page.  They also have a Facebook and Twitter page.  You can purchase the book on Amazon – $14.71 for the printed copy and $2.99 for the Kindle version.

My husband is laughing at me because the book informed me that Barbara and Ray live approximately an hour from where I am and yet I am still hoping to bump into them at some point.  With the book as great as Dog-Ma – the Zen of Slobber was, I could imagine the conversations that could take place!

I received a copy of Dog-Ma – the Zen of Slobber in order to do a review, all statements made are my own and were not influenced in any way.

  2. I love to read too and this sounds like a great book. Animal stories are some of my favorites. We have a lot of animals in our family. My son recently got two sheep to go along with the dog and cats. They have to stay outside though. :)

  3. So many great stories, they really deserve a medal for all they do x

  4. Ha! Only an hour away. That is awesome and perhaps we will bump into each other someday. I will be the frazzled redhead being either 1) dragged down the street by Morgan, or 2) frantically guiding Izzy trying to keep her from bumping into trees, thinking she can actually understand English. Thanks for your kind review!

I will be the girl with a little boy and two dogs that are walking her even though the biggest one is 6lbs, lol. My dogs will never have manners! I absolutely loved your book and it is so nice to read about someone else that has a big love of dogs.

  5. I’ll shoot this over to my sis in an email because she’s a big dog lover!
